Of Dwelling On Positivity And Impacting The Environment!

I know for sure that what we dwell on is what we become. - Oprah Winfrey

People always keep saying to focus on positive thoughts. There is a good reason for the same. The mind is the sharpest tool that has ever been in existence. Whatever you think and focus on, you have the ability to manifest the same!

There are people who fall sick out of just their thoughts! It is a proven fact that thinking of sickness always can actually produce negative effects on the body, ultimately leading to sickness. We are living in tough times. The world had barely managed to come out of a pandemic and now there are earthquakes shaking up major countries and leading to huge and tragic loss of lives, thereby spreading an aura of despair around the world. None of us can stay unaffected by tragedy, for we are all bound by one thread of consciousness. Everyone's despair is our own!

(On a personal note, let us take a moment and join in the grief of the bereaved victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Praying for peace, strength and courage for all of them!)

Amidst such uncertainty of life, a question does arise - how do we dwell on positivity when there is so much happening around us? The answer is that, there is no single method for anyone to stay positive. Each one of us will have to find our own ways to not to sink into despair and to keep our spirits strong.

The first step towards positivity is to realize that thoughts are conscious and can affect our very aura. There is this thing called collective consciousness which implies that when a large number of beings dwell on the same kind of thoughts - positive or negative - they can actually impact the environment on a large scale. One may think that just one person dwelling on the negative will not make any difference. It does! The positive side needs every additional thought, no matter how insignificant one may believe it to be.

Have you ever wondered why our spirit sinks when we are in a close association with a negative-thinker? They give such strong vibes that our aura picks up the same and clouds us too in negativity. Contrary to this, when we are in close association with a positive-minded individual, some of their positivity and energy rubs off on us and we find ourselves suddenly feeling better. Children growing up in unhappy environment often live dissatisfied lives. Environment or aura makes a huge difference to our mind-set, and that is why we need to ensure that we dwell only on positivity and goodness.

I remember one of the lines from a book of Robin Sharma, the world-class motivational speaker. He says - you cannot afford the luxury of even a single negative thought. Negativity is expensive! It costs us dearly. By positivity, I do not mean to imply that we should ignore the difficulties in life and keep living in blindness. Positivity means knowing that situations are tough, but we are tougher. It means that while there is no guarantee that life will be smooth, we can ensure retaining our calm and strength when the ride gets bumpy. It means accepting that some situations may strike us down, but we will always have the strength to rise again with renewed vigour.

Another step towards positivity is to realize that we all have some purpose in life. And to achieve our purpose, we need to reserve all the mental strength that we have. Energy wasted on negativity will only hamper our well-being and serve as an obstacle in achieving our dreams. We will be making better use of our mind when we keep it healthy with positive thoughts.

Last but not the least, I would like to wind up with another beautiful line said by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar - gratitude is the best form of thankfulness. When we are grateful to the Divine for all the unasked for gifts that we get from time to time, a sense of peace and calm descends in our life and removes away all kinds of negativity. When we perceive every little thing as the grace of the Divine, where would be space for negative thoughts in the mind? Fill up your mind with gratitude and thankfulness and let there be absolutely no place for any kind of negativity.

Every being deserves to live a peaceful life with a positive mindset. Do not let negativity rob you off the joys of life. Embrace positivity, embrace gratitude and thankfulness and never cease to pray for the whole world around us. We are all one, bound together by one infinite thread of consciousness. Others' pain is our pain and others' joy is our joy! Let us spread only positivity so that the world becomes a better place to live, not just for ourselves, but for everyone we chance to meet in life! Begin the Positivity Movement right now, starting with your own self!

Be positive. Be grateful. Be thankful!
